Brick wall self portrait

In this exercise we had to put a picture of ourselves on a different background. First we used the brush tool to take out all the green and then we added the brick wall picture as the background. Next we tried to blend in all the green and make it look natural and not photoshopped. Lastly we just corrected all the things we didn't like in the picture, like the levels and our skin. I chose to make my picture lighter so you can't see what a bad picture it really is.

In this exercise we had to use the clone tool to get rid of unwanted things in the picture.
We had to take out a bunch of tree branches and then change the lighting so it wasn't as obvious that we cropped things out of it.

tonal values-is the light or dark of a color independent of its chromaticity (hue and chroma).
Crop- cutting out unwanted parts of the picture.
Retouching-making changes to the picture such as lighting changes.

I learned that retouching a picture can totally change it. and you can manipulate it to make it look exactly how you want it to. How you crop a picture can change the main focus of the picture and how someone looks at it. I like the coloring in my photo because it does not look like a normal picture, and i think it's cool looking.
i chose to retouch my picture like this because i like the way it looks light and kinda weird instead of just like a regular picture.

Balance- I think that the trees in this picture show the balance because they pretty much go all along the back.
Proportion- This picture has good proportion, i don't think anything has the main focus you just see it all at once.
Rhythm- I think the rhythm in this picture comes from the water because you can kind of see the current/ flow of it if you look towards the back.
Emphasis- I think the focus in this picture is the water because its in the middle and you can see the reflection of everything in the picture in the water.
Unity- This picture is a very good example of unity because there are mainly the same 2 colors in the picture.

Flower

I chose to crop the picture like this because i wanted to see the rings, the flower, and the envelope together. I cut out the sides because i wanted the flower to be the main focus in the picture and I made the picture lighter because i think it makes it glow kinda. I like the way the flower and the rings blend into the white but the red stands out. I think the light shades make it look happy and that the light pink petals are very cute.

Video Tutorials

In the first video i  learned about the basics like how to open a file, make a text, change the settings of the text, and save the file. In the second video i basically learned what all the different tools are on the side and how to use them in the picture. The third video went into detail telling about every single tool in the tool palette and the different things that they do. The first two were pretty interesting and easy to follow but the third one was very hard to follow and pay attention to. I feel like i would have learned more if i would have been doing it too.
